Joel & erin Gray

Senior Pastors

While they were both students, Joel and Erin Gray met at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Joel graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry and started work as a Forensic Scientist with the Illinois State Police. Erin earned an associate degree in graphic design, and over the years worked in various capacities in that field. She is currently a full-time artist specializing in abstract painting. Together they have two kids, Noah, and Zuriel.

The Gray's started their ministry in 1998 as Youth Pastors in Centralia, Il. They would continue in youth ministry even as they moved to the Chicago area, and then back to Southern Illinois. Eventually, in 2008, they would be elected the pastors of Apostolic Life Church in Carbondale. In 2012, God transitioned them to Marion First Apostolic Church. Here they would serve as Associate Pastors until they were elected to be Senior Pastors in 2015. Erin also serves as the Children's Ministry Director for MFAC. She oversees all the weekly classes, the bus program and serves as lead teacher in the Kids church class.

Today they enjoy spending time with family, friends and their two dogs (Macy and Tilley.) Erin loves painting and traveling to art shows to sell her works. When not working for the Illinois State Police, or doing pastoral work, Joel enjoys barbecuing and lifting weights.
